Opened in 1941, El Cortez quickly gained notoriety and attracted the attention of notorious figures like Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel and Meyer Lansky. In 1963, Las Vegas icon Jackie Gaughan took ownership, ensuring the hotel’s legacy would endure.

Experience the best of both worlds at El Cortez. Immerse yourself in the nostalgic charm of the original Vegas, while enjoying the modern amenities and exceptional service you expect from a top-tier casino.

Tonight I passed through the casino to walk with my adult son to walk with him to his job on freemont Street. we walk in there alot and through because we live very close. Well not even 5 minutes later I was trying to hear back through to go home, but was met at the door by some one who said I was being watched and had to leave. why did they wait until I came back through on my own. Why not do it the first time I walked through with my son. I have absolutely nI be idea what happened. But to push away a woman on her own needs to be looked at

I don't normally write reviews but this was unacceptable. I knew this was an older hotel when booking, but the cleanliness of the room was just appalling. The p-tac unit (a/c-heating) was full of dust inside and out. The layers of dust under the unit was so thick I can only imagine the last time someone vacuumed. The chair in our room has food underneath it and with the build up on the chair only god knows how long the food has been there. The shelf in the restroom holding the extra toilet paper was also filthy.
